A Lead Generation Machine for a Charlotte Painting & Remodeling Crew
Chris' Painting & Remodeling has painted and remodeled homes from Monroe, NC since 2000. Its old website was hard to find for the work it does, and it had no way to count the estimate requests it received. ByteZero rebuilt it as a 33-page lead engine for the whole Charlotte area, launched in September 2026.
The Brief
A family-owned crew that paints, remodels kitchens and bathrooms, and builds decks across roughly fifty miles around Charlotte, running on a template site builder. Every page repeated the same H1, five pages shared one title, and there was no structured data anywhere.
Just as important for a contractor, nothing recorded what happened after someone pressed “send”, so there was no way to confirm every request arrived or to see which pages produced them.
The brief was a site that wins work across the Charlotte area rather than one small town, proves the crew's workmanship with real job photography, and treats every estimate request and phone tap as something to be captured, delivered and counted.
The site is live. SEO, Google Business Profile work and AI-assisted call handling are the next phase of the engagement.
What We Built
33 pages, one per job to be won
A homepage, seven service pages from interior painting to bathroom renovation, ten service-area pages, a gallery, a contact page and an advice library. Every page has its own title, its own H1 and its own hero.
62 real job photographs
The crew's own photos, recovered from the old gallery and color-corrected one by one. Illustrations are labelled as illustrations, so nothing on the site passes a render off as finished work.
Ten Charlotte-area pages
South Charlotte and Ballantyne, Matthews and Mint Hill, Fort Mill, Concord, Rock Hill, Lake Norman and more, each with its own painting and kitchen-and-bath sections rather than a swapped town name.
Structured data on every page
One business entity (house painter and general contractor) declared on all 33 pages, plus FAQ, article and breadcrumb markup, a sitemap and an llms.txt file so search engines and AI assistants read the business the same way.
Every Request Captured, Delivered and Counted
A contractor's website has one job: turn a homeowner with a project into a conversation. We built the path end to end, then instrumented it so the business can see where each lead came from.
Found
Service and area pages aimed at what Charlotte homeowners actually search, with the Google Business Profile map on every page.
Trusted
Real job photos, plain answers on cost and licensing, and no claim the business cannot back up.
Asked
A short estimate form on the homepage and contact page, and a sticky call bar on every phone screen.
Delivered
Each request is saved to a database and emailed the instant it arrives, with spam filtering. If sending ever fails, the form shows the phone number instead of losing the lead.
Counted
Call taps, form starts and submitted leads are tracked in Google Analytics 4 and in a lead dashboard, page by page.
The Demand Was in Charlotte, and in Remodeling
The business is based in Monroe, so the old site talked about Monroe. Keyword research showed almost nobody searches that way: “painters monroe nc” draws about thirty searches a month.
The crew already works across the Charlotte area, where the same services draw many times the demand. The second finding mattered more: in Charlotte, remodeling is the easier and higher-ticket side. “Bathroom remodeling charlotte nc” carries an Ahrefs difficulty of 12, against 38 for “house painters charlotte nc”.
So the homepage and every service page now target Charlotte, the address stays honest in Monroe, and the bathroom and remodeling pages lead the first ranking push.
Search volumes are Google Keyword Planner estimates and difficulty is Ahrefs KD, both September 2026 market data, not client performance figures. The site launched in September 2026; performance reporting begins once tracking has gathered meaningful data.
The Site We Shipped
Vivid, photograph-led and fast: a painter's site that looks like a painter made it, with the estimate button and phone number never more than a thumb away.

What Comes Next
The website is the foundation. The next phase puts ByteZero's AI-first tools behind the phone and the estimate, where a small crew loses the most work.
AI call answering and monitoring
Calls that come in while the crew is on a ladder get answered, logged and summarized, so no missed call becomes a missed job.
Faster estimates
AI-assisted intake that turns a request and a walk-round into a written estimate sooner.
SEO and Google Business Profile
Ongoing search work on the Charlotte service pages, profile optimization for the map pack, and new town pages as real jobs come in from each town.
